Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address
• First name
• Password (encrypted using industry-standard hashing)

Payment Information

Payment processing is handled securely by Braintree (a PayPal company). We do not store your full credit card number on our servers. We retain only transaction IDs for order history and support purposes.

Course & Foundations Progress Data

We track your learning progress including:

• Completed lessons and modules
• Quiz and test scores
• Sprint Training submissions and feedback
• Foundations course progress (current chapter, module, and slide position)
• Foundations challenge submissions, including uploaded images and design file links

Optional Integration Data

If you choose to connect your Discord account, we store your Discord username and ID to provide access to member-only channels. This is entirely optional.

Analytics Data

We collect anonymized usage data including pages visited, referral sources, and general geographic region (country-level). IP addresses are hashed for privacy.

We use your information to:

• Provide access to courses, Foundations, and learning materials
• Process purchases and provide customer support
• Track your course and Foundations progress and issue certificates
• Display your Foundations challenge submissions and facilitate community peer reviews
• Send important account notifications (password resets, purchase confirmations)
• Send occasional marketing emails about course updates and new content (you can unsubscribe at any time)
• Improve our platform and content based on usage patterns

Challenge Submissions

When you participate in Foundations challenges, we collect and store the design work you submit, including uploaded images and links to external design files (e.g., Figma). Submission images are stored on our cloud infrastructure (Amazon S3). By submitting work, you acknowledge that your submissions may be visible to other logged-in users through the challenge gallery.

Peer Reviews & Comments

Foundations includes a community peer review system. When you leave ratings, written feedback, or comments on other users' submissions, this content is stored and displayed alongside the submission. Your first name is visible to other users on your reviews and comments.

Shared Submission Links

You may generate shareable links for your Foundations submissions. Anyone with the link can view that specific submission in read-only mode without needing to log in. You control whether to share these links.

Progress Reset

You can reset your Foundations progress at any time from within the platform. Resetting permanently deletes all of your Foundations submissions, associated uploaded files, and progress data.

We use the following third-party services:

• Braintree/PayPal - Payment processing
• Google Analytics - Anonymized website analytics
• Discord - Optional community access (only if you choose to connect)
• Vimeo - Video hosting and delivery
• Amazon Web Services (S3) - Secure storage of uploaded files, including Foundations challenge submission images
• ConvertKit - Email marketing and subscriber management

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

We use cookies to:

• Session cookies - Keep you logged in while using the platform
• Analytics cookies - Understand how visitors use our site (anonymized)
• Preference cookies - Remember your settings and preferences

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may affect your ability to use certain features of our platform.

We take data security seriously:

• All data is transmitted over SSL/TLS encrypted connections
• Passwords are hashed using bcrypt (never stored in plain text)
• Payment information is processed through PCI-compliant services
• Regular security reviews of our infrastructure

Never share your password with anyone. DesignCourse will never contact you to ask for your password.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Course progress and purchase history are kept indefinitely to ensure you maintain access to your purchased courses. Foundations progress, challenge submissions, and community feedback are retained until you choose to reset your progress or delete your account.

If you wish to delete your account and associated data, please contact us. Note that we may retain certain transaction records as required by law.

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account
• Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time
• Disconnect optional integrations (like Discord)
